OSX Lion – was Sie wissen sollten…
Wenn der Löwe brüllt…
Seit Kurzem kann OSX 10.7, nach Apple Raubkatzenschema „Lion“ genannt, für einen verhältnismäßig lächerlichen Betrag von gerade mal 23,99 € im Mac App Store gekauft werden.
Da liegt die Versuchung nahe, das System schnellstmöglich zu installieren, um die tollen neuen Features wie Mission Control, Vollbildapps und Launchpad endlich auszuprobieren:
Vorsicht ist jedoch geboten, wenn Sie DAWs wie Cubase, Nuendo oder Pro Tools einsetzen!
Wir können nur dazu raten, die Webseiten der Hersteller zu beobachten und nach neuesten Informationen Ausschau zu halten.
Selbst Logic-Usern möchten wir empfehlen, wenigstens ein Backup des bestehenden Systems zu machen, um per Timemachine oder anderer bewährter Technologien zu der Ursprungsversion zurückkehren zu können.
Ein Downgrade ist nämlich – wie immer – nicht möglich!

Ableton:
Live 8 is being tested with OS X Lion. Here’s the current state of affairs:Known Issues
We have found an issue that causes Live to freeze when sending MIDI out, either to external hardware or internally via the IAC bus.
We are currently working on a solution for this problem, which we will release in a bugfix update as soon as possible. Until this update is available, we do not recommend updating to Lion.
Lion compatibility for versions of Live prior to Live 8 is under consideration but is not currently planned.
Third-Party Hardware and Plug-ins
Although our next bugfix update should resolve problems with Live itself, please note that many audio/MIDI devices and third-party plug-ins are not yet compatible with Lion. Please check with the manufacturers of any third-party products to confirm Lion compatibility before upgrading.

At the time of writing, the following products are currently not working with OS X 10.7:Automap
Nocturn
Launchpad (Ableton is currently not compatible with Lion, therefore the Launchpad may experience difficulties).
Please note, the following controllers which rely on Automap will not be supported due to lack of Automap compatibility as yet. They will however function as standard MIDI Devices:
